Emily Post was an American novelist, author, columnist, socialite, and an authority on etiquette. "Etiquette," she once said, "is the science of living. It embraces everything. It is the code of sportsmanship and of honor. It is ethics." More than half a century after her death, her name is still used in titles of etiquette books.
The collection includes 40 items dating from 1925 to 1951 specifically, 3 letters, 24 mimeo radio transcripts, 2 books, 2 photos, 4 postcard/prints, 4 brochures/leaflets, and a card.

• TLS to Miss Hirschfeld, 30 July 1925, re Post’s favourite books: in early youth, Alice in Wonderland, “which I knew by heart”; in early teens, The Ingoldsby Legends; later, Henry Sienkiewicz’s Without Dogma.
• TLS to addressed “Jeanne dear”, 26 July 1948, re Jeanne’s kindness, infringing on Life’s copyright for Bell Syndicate publicity.

• Du Pont Company. “What Emily Post Said on the Du Pont Cellophane Radio Program”, broadcasts on Monday and Thursday mornings in major US cities addressing topics of interest pertaining to the home and daily social life. 24 mimeo transcripts (2 duplicates). 6 February-18 May 1933. Rust from staples (removed). 2 Du Pont Cellophane envelopes addressed to Mrs. Richard Fenton. With form letters from Dorothy King of Du Pont’s Radio Service Department and 2 leaflets about cellophane. Approximately 75 pp.
