'Proceedings of a General Court Martial held by order of Lieutenant General The Earl Dalhousie G.C.B. Governor in Chief and Commander of the Forces in British North America. Quebec, 16th Janary 1826'. Previous collector has discarded the account of the court itself so we only have the preliminaries and then the ratification of the sentence signed by Dalhousie and the President of the tribunal - and builder of the Quebec citadel - Elias Walker Durnford who signs himself: 'E W Durnford Colonel Corps of Royal Eng. President'. Both chunks are mounted on a single sheet with old annotation to the side with the signature of the Judge Advocate.

George Ramsay, ninth Earl of Dalhousie, served as Lieutenant- Governor of Nova Scotia (1816–1820), then as Governor-in-Chief of British North America (1820–1828). He served twelve years in Canada. Dalhousie is considered the first patron of the arts in Canada.
