Jacland Marmur was born in Poland, February 14, 1901 and died in San Rafael, California in 1970. He was brought to the United States at an early age and after graduation from high school he took to the sea for thirteen years, then settled in California. He earned a wide reputation as a writer of sea stories and is best known for his Navy related stories.
