Preface, historical introduction, explanation of the bibliographical method and principles, list of works cited, location symbols, black and white illustrations. The bibliography is organized alphabeticallly by year. Three appendices. Indices of names and titles.
Carl Spadoni and Judith Donnelly have included all manner of books in this compilation: fiction, poetry, drama, biography, history, and other non-fiction, as well as textbooks at all levels. A good portion of the company's books in the pre-World War II period were imported from the United States and England; the compilers have therefore listed not only Canadian books, but also works by non-Canadian writers in Canadian issues.
