Autograph Letter Signed to Mrs. Disraeli . Two pages, 7 x 5-1/4 inches flat. Undated but 1854. Sending two copies of Counterparts, for Mrs. Disraeli, the other for Mr. Disraeli. Sending specially bound copies a week before publication. 1-1/2 inch tear on 2nd panel otherwise very good condition.

Elizabeth Sarah Sheppard was a British author, a disciple of Benjamin Disraeli. Sheppard dedicated one of her three volume novels, Counterparts, or the Cross of Love, to Mrs. Disraeli in 1854. Mrs. Disraeli, Mary Anne Lewis said of her husband "Dizzy married me for my money", his wife said later, "But, if he had the chance again, he would marry me for love."

Benjamin Disraeli, a British conservative politician and author, who served twice as Prime Minister, agreed to help Sheppard. He not only recommended her book to his own publisher, but he also wrote to the aspiring writer
