The rare first edition map "North America including the United States and their Boundaries Agreeable To The Peace of 1783" depicts all 13 of the then newly formed United States. Map "Published, June 1st, 1783, by J. Fielding, No. 23 Paternoster Row. Woodman & Mutlow, sc."
Rare portraits of both together on a map this early of George Washington and Benjamin Franklin as medallions on either side of the laurel wreath cartouche. One of the first English maps to name the United States.
Rare small 18th century pocket guide which gives extensive detailed information about each of the newly formed states as well as native inhabitant tribes, Canada (p.104 to p.122), Caribbean Islands including Bermuda, British America, etc. Containing a concise account of their first settlements, principal cities and towns, air, soil, produce, manufactures and commerce ... To which is prefixed, an account of the persons, singular customs and manners, of the original inhabitants of America. A large Indian Nation is seen west of the southern states, their limit stopping at a line called "Indians Antiant Boundary". Numerous fictitious islands shown within Lake Superior.
