Petition of the Hon. Augustin N. Morin and others, praying for a Charter, by the name of "Northern Pacific Railway Company," &c.,

&c., This line was to be constructed and maintain a line of Railway from the City of Montreal. By the Way of Bytown and the Valley of Ottawa, to the Western Boundary of Canada, and to construct a bridge between the outlet of Lake Superior and Lake Huron.

A.N. (Augustin Norbert) Morin, [1803-1865] M.P.P

Robert Bell was a printer, businessman, office holder, politician, justice of the peace, and militia officer. He ran successfully as a reform candidate in the general election of 1847-48 which he represented in the Legislative Assembly until 1851. Throughout his life Bell maintained his residence in Carleton Place. In the elections of 1854, 1857–58, 1861, and 1863 he won the Lanark North seat.
