11-1/2 x 8-5/8 inches Litho printed portrait of Giekie with printed signature and inscribed on verso six lines dated Toronto May 18, 1909 to Mrs. Donald Sutherland Walter Bayne Geikie, doctor and educator. Licensed by the Medical Board of Upper Canada in July 1851. He practised in Bond Head from 1851 to 1856. He worked at Victoria College at Cobourg 1856-1870 and the Medical Faculty of Trinity College in 1871 as registrar and treasurer and, on the death of E.M. Hodder in 1878, was made dean. He was on the consulting staff of Toronto General Hospital and the Hospital for Sick children, until 1903. He was also president of the Union Loan Savings Co. and Toronto City Mission, treasurer in Canada of the Armenian Relief Fund, and vice-president of the Upper Canada Bible Society.
