A printed funeral note dated July 1950 from King's family upon his passing. "Funeral service, Wednesday, July 26, 1950 at Ottawa. Interment, Thursday, July 27, 1950 at Toronto.

This printed note has the handwriting of Jennie K. Lay to a family friend, Mary.

Printed note had been torn and repaired using Japanese mulberry and silk fibre paper. In very good condition otherwise.

The Mary Jennie is referring to in this note is most likely Mrs. Mary Scott, 82 South Drive, Toronto, Ont. A friend of MacKenzie's parents and whom he had previous personal correspondence. WLKM had very few friends and family and rarely showed his private side in public which makes these type of personal communications insightful and rare. Highly collectable. In 1906, she married Harry Morrison Lay, a widower with a young son. They raised Harry's son Nelson and their own four children, John, Jean, Rosabel and Harry.
