Autographed and inscribed by the author using both his Christian name and his Indian name Timus.
Title continued, together with his later experiences in official and business capacities and a brief description of resources, beauties and advantages of the new Northwest, the several Indian wars, etc.

Hunter and his family emigrated overland in 1852. He later mined around Shasta City and Ureka in the 1850's, Shoalwater Bay Oyster Business, Sherriff of Pacific County, Gold Mining at Kootenia British Columbia, took part in the Rogue River Indian War of 1853, rode express between Virginia City and Bannock, served in the Civil War, participated in the Nez Perce War with General Howard, served in Washington Territory legislature, and was generally active in many activities all over the region.
