Bound in brown cloth over beveled boards; decorated with coat of arms, thistles etc in gilt and black and with blind stamp decoration to top board; spine decorated in gilt; rear board decorated with blind stamp. A good+ only set but still a complete set. Engraved portrait plates frontispiece in each vol., some wrinkling on back covers, and dirty end papers, all insides generally good condition Study of Scottish immigrants to the U.S. and Canada.
Volume four contains a frontis engraving of Sir John A. Macdonald.
The books are unillustrated except for portraits of four famous Scots, one per volume, covered by tissues opposite the inside title pages:
