Come and meet Canadian authors of Canadian history at this two day event.
Twenty authors of great renown will present their stories about Canada’s past, participate in panel discussions.
Meet You at the Upper Canada Book Fair
If you love to read and you love history, then mark the weekend of June 26-27 on your calendar. Come to the Upper Canada Book Fair and enjoy an engaging event where you’ll meet some famous authors, hear them tell their stories, listen in on their panel discussions and get autographed copies of their books.
This two-day event is being hosted at ECOTAY Education Centre, a series of beautifully restored period barns – and original homestead built by the Ritchie’s, one of the first Scottish emigrant families to Perth who settled the Upper Scotch Line in 1816.The Cow Barn is a magnificent space where books will be on display and for sale.The Horse Barn is home to an expansive stage and seating area, where the talks will take place. The Pig Barn Café is a warm and cozy spot to rest, chat and have a cup of coffee and a snack.

LORD DURHAM RARE BOOKS INC. - Duncan McLaren
An antiquarian dealer of books, maps, prints, ephemera, photos etc. will be exhibiting and putting together a customized product offering specifically for this event. The books will support the Pioneer Women theme and be primarily 19th century ORIGINAL period publications. The authors focused on will be Susanna Moodie and Catharine Parr Traill with over 20 books from each author ALL produced in the 1800's and many first editions. Other authors will include , Isabella Valancy Crawford, John & Anne Langton, Frances Browne Stewart, Samuel Strickland, Nellie McClung to name a few. This is an unusual opportunity to see and discuss these great pioneers and get a "physical" connection with them.
